A Teacher Who Loves Beginners
Amy Hanson is the three-time defending Dancer’s Cup Tour Top Teacher. She has danced professionally and internationally and built friendships with dancers many people recognize from Dancing with the Stars.
She has taught since 2009, and her lessons are patient, clear and fun. People who are sure they have no rhythm are exactly the beginners Amy loves to teach.

Before Your First Lesson
Do I need a partner?
No. Come on your own or bring a partner. When you come alone, Amy dances with you, so you learn the steps and how good partnering feels.
I’ve never danced before. Is that okay?
Yes. Complete beginners are welcome. Lessons start with the basics, at your pace, and you don’t need natural coordination or any experience to learn.
Where are lessons held?
Ballroom by Amy is based in the Twin Cities, teaching in Saint Paul, Roseville, Shoreview and Plymouth, and welcoming dancers from across the metro. Ask Amy which location works best for you.
How much do lessons cost?
Wedding first dance packages start at $499 for four private lessons. For private lessons, group classes and Pro-Am training, Amy shares pricing and options when you reach out.
